"Five Orphans From Home Makeover Show Sue"

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Five orphaned siblings who moved into a new dream home on the hit ABC television show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" are suing the network, the company that built the house and the couple who took them in after their parents died.

The children range in age from 15 to 22. They claim that after "Extreme Makeover" built a new nine-bedroom mansion for them to live in with Phil and Loki Leomiti, the Leomitis engaged in "an orchestrated campaign" to drive them away by insulting them and treating them poorly.

The children ultimately moved out of the Leomitis' home in Santa Fe Springs, a small city southeast of Los Angeles, and are living separately with friends, said Charles Higgins II, the eldest sibling.

Their complaint, which was filed Wednesday, alleges fraud and breach of contract. It seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.

That show was here and did a makeover for a man raising 4 kids in a little house. Seemed like nice folks. Too bad they get dragged into disputes like this.

wasn't theirs, for the obvious reason of how this turned out.

These kids may have been acting out like crazy and the Leomitis' put their foot down, which the kids didn't like. Some stupid lawyer probably put it into their heads that they could sue ABC and get lots of money. A really sad situation.

Sounded pretty definitive to me, as if they'd read something somewhere or knew first hand... I'm asking for a link to read for myself because speculation isn't fact.

9. You have to remember

Not only are these "teenagers", they also lost both parents in a very short time. They were taken in by "strangers", and were coping. When ABC came in they not only gave them a new house to live in, but I think they all got cars too. Now, just think about it, what teenager is going to stay home and toe the line when they have a new car, especially with someone who is not their parent. It was a tragedy waiting to happen. I can only hope that things work out for everyone concerned.

That's a little old to be claiming a right to live at home with the parents, if you asked me.

This has nothing to do with a right to live at home with parents. First off thier parents are dead. Secondly it isnt about the right to live at home. ABC rebuilt the house for the express purpose of accomidating the orphans. The orphans now claim they were driven out of the house by the people who had their home turned into a mansion because of the orphans.
