| Arnold wins...Bush takes California in '04 (via BBV) |
|
I B.S. you not. This is going to happen.
I had to turn off NPR this morning. They had some simpleton gushing about how neat it was that Los Angeles County is allowing people to vote early using touch screen machines in 12 locations, even though the rest of L.A. will be using punched cards. She mentioned how it is easy to mess up and make the wrong selection, how they give you a smart card to log in (right before someone else says it is "hack proof"), and of course, fails to mention that there is no way in hell to know that her vote is actually going in the bucket the PC screen tells you it is.
Although I think touch screen voting machines are the biggest scam ever, I figured for this recall election, "no big deal" since there are only 12 of them. That was until I heard NPR say there is a *huge* turnout of folks using the BBV to cast their votes. With the Secretary of State cheering them on...
In this "close" race I predict Arnold will win by a few thousand votes...thus branding California a Republican state. That way in '04 when Bush wins California, it will not be such a shock to the system (if Cali can raise $100 million to go totally BBV - I'm sure the Feds will find that in their hearts to give - thanks to the "Help America (not) Vote Act").
If paper-trailess BBV systems are rolled out in Cali, that would make Cali, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Nebraska, and who knows how many other states, in the Republicans' pocket even before 1 vote is cast in the Presidential election.
I always tell my best friend, "If there is *one* fair election left, Bush & Co's days are numbered." I think the reality is becoming that there will not be a fair election left if states keep marching down the road to Black Box Voting systems built by Republican-owned firms, with no paper trail for verification, and code that cannot be audited by the general public.
I dare you guys to prove me wrong because I *want* to be wrong on this.

However some hacker could make Gary Coleman govenor and blow the lid off this thing...
Wouldn't that set a new standard for "Irony"?

| 5. Scary, alright, but focus on this: |
|
We have to make sure Bush's support is eroded so much that it can't be close enough for voter fraud. The scam only works if the votes are close. If Bush continues to sink and sink, we could win this in spite of their attempts to steal it. We need to bury him early and often.
That's what I focus on anyway; otherwise it's too depressing...

In GA in 2002, there was a 16 pre- and post-election point swing for Perdue (vs. Barnes) and 13 points for Cleland (vs. Chambliss). Huge swings in a few other states. And no one batted an eye.
Too, I'm noticing that polls are getting increasingly rigged. Yesterday it was all over the air waves (or cable, actually) that Davis was in trouble and Arnold was favored. And yet I also heard that there was one poll done with wildly different results. Californians are being LIED To right now to suppress votes.
If Arnold (or McClintock) wins, Bush will go there every time he turns around, lavish federal largesse on the state, and there will be polls saying how popular Bush is in the state, how "close"t he race is -- even if it's NOT!!!!!!! -- and they'll pull out every vote suppression and vote fraud tactic in the books, and maybe even invent a few for the 2004 Election.
I'm sorry. I just don't share your optimism.

| 8. I am not optimistic either |

But I do recognize that a large voter turn out would make voter fraud more obvious. We can only hope that there is enough Demo activists to blow the whistle on them if they try to steal it. And that can bring national attention to the BBV scam and perhaps make a difference.

Arnold's supporters seemed to be flopping around like fish on a dock this morning.
"Would you let your daughter be an intern in Arnold's office?" I heard someone say. That's a killer.
Yes the "script" says that Arnold is going to win, but that seems to be unraveling. I don't know how quickly the "evil empire" can write Arnold out, but I suspect they are thinking mighty hard about it.
One advantage we have here in California is that we do not have a monoculture of voting machines like you do in Georgia. There will be a lot of statistical comparisons made between demographically similar communities that use the various voting systems.
If some of these communities using black box voting machines are tilting towards Arnold in unusual ways compared to similar communities that don't use black box voting, there will be some serious explaining to do.
Still, I am very nervous...

But they don't have access to the black box. The easy hack is from the folks who build and maintain these things. Now that the word is out on the hackability of these monsters, I will be one surprised old woman if we don't see hobby hackers from all over the world trying to screw the vote in Calif. Yeh, we could see Darth Vader get elected Gov.
I'm praying for it.......

There is enough evidence of corruption within these machines that I beleive legal arguments will clog the courts for years. btw: Just how good are California hackers anyway? Gary Coleman for Gov.
