Since we know Gore can speak intelligently twice in a row, we just need a VP candidate that can.
Kerry wasn't able to do it in 2004. We got Lieberman stapled to Gore in 2000, which is as good as having a Republican VP.
I'm not convinced on Clark, personally. Clinton has no chance, ever, which is why the Reps want her to run, so they can use her to promote their candidate. Biden is a Republican.
I watched the Waco hearings about the ATF, and saw how Biden, Schumer and others acted. They stayed in lockstep in the face of unbelievable evidence against the ATF.

I'm tired of having to go through teaching assistants and their like. I had a TA that ended up assigning us her assignments from her 400 level class, just to see what we would come up with so she wouldn't have to do it. Ah, good old Colorado State.

Plus he said he wouldn't run in 2008 if he got the chairmanship. I think a Gore/Dean ticket would be cool but I'd go with Gore/Edwards or Gore/Feingold. Up until Roberts Feingold has a pretty good record. He was after all the only one who voted against the "Patriot Act" in the senate.

The choice of a VP has never been of much interest to me as a matter of what I want as a representative of my interests. In the last century, the VP doesn't even mean much in terms of making a winning "ticket," despite the so-called conventional wisdom.
If he runs in 2008, I'll probably support Clark because I like him, and he actually might have a chance of winning my state. But, if I could dream, it would be Kucinich.

But, I must admit, I've never seen what a FIFTY state landslide looks like.
In a strictly academic sense, I guess it might be interesting. But depressing personally, and disastrous for the country, as the GOP could run Spiro Agnew from the grave with Kucinich at the top of our party's ticket and still win in a walk.
Get real.

If I wanted to discuss realistic expectations of the '08 election cycle, I'd wait until '06, after that cycle, and discuss these things then when it actually has some basis in reality. I intentionally avoid those threads now because they do not matter in the least. This was a different sort of question, not who "will" you support, but who, in your dreams, would be your candidate of choice.
Kucinich would be, but as I said quite clearly, if he runs, I'll probably back Clark because of the practical reasons you seemed focused on.
The OP asked a question. I answered it. That is all.

A lot of people STILL don't understand what makes the "other side" tick.

Don't make me laugh. Republicans in my state were voting for him in the Dem primaries to oust Clark from the running. They weren't scared of Edwards at all.
And his Clinton-like persona is forced. It really turns me off of him, actually.

though I think Gore/Clark is strong.
No to Kerry. I wouldn't vote for him for anything after his capitulation. No to Biden in either position. Though I like Clinton, no as either, too much Bill baggage.
Kucinich is closest to my beliefs. Clark is clean and honest. That would be a good ticket politically, but don't know how it would fare with the voters.
I have been kicking around in my brain a cross-party ticket. I really think a liberal Dem and a moderate and respected Rep could be the strongest ticket the democratic party could put together. It would cause the Rep's to have a conip because they would have a hard time tearing down the Rep and it would be impossible for them to attempt to divide by party lines.
I really liked McCain until he actively campained for *, I have a hard time forgiving that. So, anybody no any other reasonable and honest Republican prospects for a cross-party Dem ticket? And who, other than Matt Santos, would be a good head for that ticket?

Since you asked for ideal ticket, not realistic. And given that I would have most definitely voted for a deceased Wellstone vs a semi-living Coleman (aka Coleperson) in the Senate race had MN law allowed it, I thought it appropriate to consider him as still being in the running. God I miss that man. What a terrible loss, not just for MN but for the entire nation. Wellstone/Kucinich would be the ideal ticket for me. What a different world we would have if those two were running the country.

Back before Clinton and Bush election, I wrote a letter to Wellstone, pleading with him to run for President. I wish he would have tossed his hat in the ring. I sent him a book called, What went wrong in America, and on CSPAN, he waived the book in the air, and spoke about corporate corruption against the American people. I'll always remember it.

I always admired Wellstone and donated to his compaign even though I'm not from his state. I have a little altar at home with pictures of loved ones and I have the card that Wellstone sent of him in front of the campaign bus. It's a drawing. I keep it on my altar with my other friends who have passed on.

Biden might work, but I think I'd explore somebody else for the VP. Don't know who yet.

sorely lacking in our current pResident and Clarke brings the security that many need to see.
They are both intelligent, congenial, competent and caring people, such a stark contrast to Bush and Cheney that they will overwhelm most Americans,I think.

Pres and VP, either one but both together, in 2008.
Mainly because they are two past rightfully elected Presidents that never were. It would be 8 years to make up for.

We cannot run Kerry, Edwards or Gore again.
Mainstream America sees them as Losers.
We know there was election fraud and these guys won, but middle America doesn't because of the steady pile of steaming crap fed to them by the MSM.
I hate to say this, but Kerry, Edwards and Gore are political poison. I think we need a fresh face.

Kucinich and Boxer, but it won't happen. Or maybe even Conyers and Boxer, not going to happen. However, I'd vote for Clark/Gore, Clark/Edwards, Gore/Clark. Oh hell, I'd vote for any of them if it gets this bunch out!

I believe Clark would appeal to some of the conservative voters. However, I would really like Conyer/Boxer, Kucinich/Conyer, Kucinich/Boxer. Last election I was for Kucinich and still am; however, I don't think they have a chance. It would be great that Gore be on the ticket, but I'm not thrilled with Hillary.

Maybe who ever leads the Democrats to victory over the Republicans in the 2006 Congressional elections should be given the nod?

Gore because, well I feel he needs to regain what was rightfully his. Jennifer Granholm because, well. Damn it, it's about time we had a woman on the ticket again and she's who came to mind. Plus, the lady's nice to look at. "GiGi for you and me!"

he's been focusing on the poor like no other major politician. He's spent all his time since the election talking and learning about that one issue, and it's so important right now.
And I can't say enough about Clark. Sometimes he seems like the only talking head that makes sense anymore. I'm so glad he's on Fox news right now, cause he makes Dems look DAMN good.
That's why Clark/Edwards is my ideal ticket. I'm surprised they've gotten so few votes actually!

that's why i voted for this combo.
i don't think america will trust gore or kerry again. the people want a fighter.
i think a general and a trial attorney would fight to the last dime against any gop supreme court trickery.
that surrender on the morning after the election was kerry's to call -- not edwards, who by his expression that night, clearly wanted to keep fighting!

I'd like to see Al Gore have the job he was elected for in 2000. I've read that Clark won't accept second place, but he would be very good at either post.

| 107. Gore ran such a great campaign in 2004! |
|
Too bad he wasn't running for anything!
If he could ask the big question about whether we're better off in '08 than we were 8 years ago, he could be a shoe in! Especially if we can keep people like Carter talking about how Gore really won in 2000.
As for VP, that's a toughie but I think it's as simple as ABC (Anyone But Cheney!) Would Bob Graham be interested?
