I drink not the swill of Molson... it's kinda like that one event that is the most memorable of you entire life...but only cause it's the most embarrassing... that's pretty well what Molson beer is to Canada

I have never tasted them but will have to try them.
on edit: my brother and his wife bought a local bar recently (March) Everything has begun to taste like swill to me, I am rather sick of beer at the moment having consumed way too much of the stuff (out of loyalty) And he has almost 50 kinds of beer, ale and stout available. I have taken to sipping good tequila instead.
Edited AGAIN to say I love the Desperate Housewives and their bizarre, twisted neighborhood. I also consider myself a feminist, as all smart women do. :-)

We, all have our embarassemnts....AS for D. H. , my wife loves it , I watched it a few times and it brings to mind "Dallas" in the 70's...With the exception of fighting the fundies on birth control and woman health issues, I haven't heard a feminist group speak out on the many things of late.

I am using my right to not watch shows who's very premise annoy me. I may "think" it is demeaning but I really have no idea since I have never seen it. Just curious, poking through threads, move along.

It is actually a very dark comedy.
and I also like the fact that there are now 5 hot women on the show who are all over 40 years old.
You should give it a try sometime.

The only time I'm hot is when I'm having a hot flash , but I LOVE "Desperate Housewives". It does me good to see those four (the fifth is Eva Longoria; I believe she's in her 30's,) 40+ hotties showing America that 40 isn't fatal...

I have to tell you, I'm a damn strong feminist, and have been fighting for 40+ years, but I love watching Desperate Housewives! It's a HIT SHOW, and it would have to be one hell of a big group to have any influence that would more the network!
I'm not concerned at all.

The only so-called feminists I can think of who would not like it would be the wingnut Church Ladies.
Let me rephrase - the Church Ladies themselves would not have a problem but the men who control them (Church Boys) because of fear of their own masculinity (rather lack there of) would be telling the Church Ladies they should not watch it - might give them some ideas.

|
than N.O.W. which seems to be so much out of the news that I am not aware of what they are doing lately. And, given that the word 'feminist' itself has been so demonized I doubt that a group of those identifying themselves as such could sway the TV viewing public to the negative about a popular show.
And I say the above with great sadness...
The feminist movement has given so much to the country and the world over the past several decades having swayed our collective conscious towards a better understanding of both sexes. But as a firm believer in attitudes and events going in cycles, the next incarnation of feminism will also do much good for our understanding of each other.
Women forget how powerful they are and the broad scope of their influence. They are quite formidable when moved to action.

doesn't like or won't admit to liking it.... but I haven't heard anything about people wanting it pulled. I can't imagine the network would pull such a successful show.
(I'm one of those people who is embarrassed to admit that I watch it. I can't help it ... I identify with the woman with the monstrous little boys!)

You very rarely see women characters over 40 on TV, let alone ones that are gorgeous and sexy. DH is a well-written, blackly humorous series. I look forward to it every Sunday night!
