| Co worker told another co-worker, "REMOVE THAT JOHN KERRY STICKER NOW!" |
|
A co-worker told me today that this other guy who works with me told him last week to remove that John Kerry Bumpersticker NOW! Heres the quick version of the story
Co-worker has a car with a Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker on it. I guess ever since January or February this co worker is obviously VERY much the Bush fanatic has been razzing him about removing the sticker. This co -worker with the sticker has more or less laughed it off. He says the guy occasionally ribs him about it but nothing more. He also says the guy is pretty cool most the time. Very fair & hard working guy & pretty easy going.
So, late this summer, co-worker with bumper sticker begins looking for a new car. The car has been giving him trouble & even joked to the Bush fanatic that he's looking for another car with a Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker on it. This guy actually thought it was pretty funny. So, even though this guy is a Bushie, he seems pretty cool. Co-worker bought a new car & picks it up this Thursday. Last Friday(I was off & just heard about this today)This Bushie showed his true colors. In the parking lot told him that he had better get that Bumpersticker off NOW! He said he didn't want him trading it in with that 'liberal propaganda' on it. The guy they said was livid. He said he's been holding it in for months but thinks as long as we have troops over in Iraq thats its disgraceful to keep that sticker on. He says he see's ton's of people driving around with these Kerry/Edwards bumperstickers & what it really says is these liberals are sore losers! Get over it! Now, this guy was off today but this co-worker says he's afraid what this guy might do if he see's the sticker STILL on his car tomorrow.
Before anyone says, 'tell our boss' thats not an option. We don't wanna go running to the boss over this. Beside, he could play it off as us over reacting. Only way we'll do that is if he vandalizes the car & does something extreme. No one can figure out what has made this guy snap. But, I think ALOT of Bush loyalist are edgy lately because of Bush's F-ups & problems. Anyway, thought I'd add this to the list of Freeper tales we share here! (althought he doesn't really fit the freeper profile, he sure acted like one last week I hear!)

Tape it. IF the guy trashes the car or even removes the bumper sticker, prosecute.

ignores the Bushbot. And if the Bushbot says anything about it -- even a single word -- he tells him this is still America, it's still a freaking free country, I can put any freaking thing I want on my freaking bumper, and you can just shut the freak up about it. No more discussion.

I feel really blessed to be working in a place where we do contract work for Disney; in order to operate and keep that account, the company is forbidden to take any negative action against any employee based on religion, sexual orientation, or political views, among other things. I am sure it pisses lots of the bigwigs off, 'cos it's a reThug-owned company (pays the big boys big bucks, while the front-line employees are applying for fuel assistance and food stamps, due to their pathetically underpaid positions) but tough shit! I keep all my protest posters in the back seat of my car, and rotate them in and out of the back window, just BECAUSE IT'S MY RIGHT AS A PATRIOTIC AMERICAN!!!
This week, it's "Karl Rove, the Voice of Treason" and "Just Say 'NO' to American Empire."

He wants the sticker removed before he trades it in. This is what we were all talking about. He's not upset that he's driving around with it, but now that he's trading it in, he wants to make sure that sticker is removed. WHat we think this guy is up to is he wants to have a reason to remove it himself. This way, if we complain he can say you were trading it in anyway, what do you care? Its very childish, but its the only thing we can think of. Its a power play thing. This guy who bought the new car got a brand new Honda & has decided he wants to put a sign in the back window & change it on a daily basis. I showed him some I printed out from Bartcop & he liked the idea of keeping it current where as a bumpersticker is more permannent.I think this idea is much better & I don't balme him for not wanting to put a bumper sticker on a new car right away.

|
that if the car is vandalized and the sticker scraped or defaced, he will suspect the Bushbot, and the Bushbot better shut the hell up about what isn't his business or property.
He should stop talking with the Bushbot about the car at all and simply do the tradein so that one day it'll simply be done and the Bushbot can stew about the fact that someone is driving that car around, perhaps with the sticker.

Being polical.. I end up with alot of campaign stickers from time to time. LOL! Who would have thought! Anyway, I know your bud just got a new car and you mentioned signs, etc. Tell him to start eye balling the areas on his car where he could put his stickers on windows. You can't cover the windows up, etc. But one or two, in spots were they will not effect visual, etc.
After this guys comments, there is this sticker I've seen floating around that would be perfect. It's "I support Vets, I VOTED for one."
This Bushie guy can't same the same. Now can he?
The guy just might be noticing that there are more Kerry stickers driving around then W stickers... Aghm.....

| 50. Why is it so binary. Support Bush AND the troops |
|
or support Kerry and don't.
I have a ribbon on my car, right next to my Kerry sticker. Folks don't get that. To me, supporting Kerry was more in line with supporting the troops than supporting the fake tough guy. I swear I'm going to get a magnet to put on people's cars between the ribbon and the Bush sticker that says "Pick one".
Anyway, Kerry WAS one of the troop. HE KNOWS. He cares about not misusing the troops, not underequipping them, making sure there is enough of them to do whatever job they've been sent out to do, about treating them properly when they get home. Conservatives never understand that alot of Kerry's testimony in 71 had to do with Kerry caring about the troops in Vietnam and the way they were nearly abandoned when they came home. I've met the ticking time bombs Kerry talked about. Alot of them NEVER got treatment for their PTSD.
Some of the Conservative vets I've run into automatically jump to "How dare you tell me all of the military is like Abu Ghraib! Fuck you! Kerry called us all baby killers!" Um, why do they always make that leap. No, he didn't. But that's what war does to some people. And you'd better have a damned good reason for putting a whole bunch of young men through war.
There's a reason only the chickenhawks are gungho in this administration, and why they had to either smear or discredit or get rid of anyone who was even remotely regular Army. God forbid someone should disagree who actually knows what he or she is talking about. Oh no, shut them up and get them out of here.
Oh, rant mode off.
I feel your friends pain. I was accosted by my car by a psychotic psychic who said my Kerry sticker "frightened her" and seemed to want me to genuflect at the very mention of Glorious Leader. Not much of a psychic, or she'd have known what I wanted to say to her.
Tell him to stick to his guns. It's none of his co-workers business. I know it's damned hard, and often scary. But I'm not backing down anymore. I hope your friend doesn't either.
