Medved to Gay Conservative: "Because you are less important..."

So I had the "pleasure" of catching the last 5 minutes of the Michael Medved show last night. He had a caller who described himself as a gay conservative. He declared that he enjoys Medved's show, and is a * supporter. However he had an issue with Medveds gay rights stance, and wanted Medved to explain his position. Essentially Medved replied that he believes gay relationships are less important and don't deserve the same rights as a hetero marriages. According to his "numbers" most hetero marriages produce kids, hence they are more important. The caller replied, "my partner and I are adopting", which Medved replied, "that nice, but you still aren't as important".

I was blown away, as to how the caller just excepted his party's stance, and continues his support?

HE is not important.

As a hetero in a childless marriage (by choice, btw), I resent the incinuation that the only "worthy" marriages are those that produce children.

and has ?'s about Medved's stand on gay marriage--What about Bush's!!??

And he should stop listening to Medved's show. I once worked as an intern at "In The Life", a GLBT news program on PBS. I was really bored one day and decided to catalog all this digital footage that had been shot, but not labeled. And what do I come across?? A Reparative Therapy conference (can't remember where it was being held)with Michael Medved as the keynote speaker. And who else spoke?? Maggie Gallagher! I was gagging! This was about 5 years ago and I wish I still worked there so I could get a hold of the footage.

7. Don't you all realize how precarious humankind's position is?

There are, what, only 6 or 7 billion of us left? Barely enough to ravage the planet! And when Jesus comes back, and that right soon, He's not going to be worried about whether or not any of the gifts he left with us have prospered or improved (Take that! Luke 19:11-26) he's gonna wanna know why we didn't have more children.

What a pantload Medved is. Why any person would listen to his demented ravings except for the miniscule humor value is beyond me.

9. Medved's really got it in for gay people....

....which is odd, since he's always been a pretty strong blip on most people's gaydar. I remember seeing him back when he had that movie reviewing show in the 80's, and thinking, "there's NO WAY this guy's straight..."
