What would that be, somewhere around 100 dead? Just looked it up: Normal Passenger Seats Available: Up to 92 troops or 64 paratroops or 74 litter patients.
The other question is, why was the airstrip not secured before the landing?

I heard him on NPR say that the plane "banked" a direction and shot off all their flares. He said that the reserves that were on the plane thought it was "fun", but he was "terrified". Seriously, despite the politics I don't want to see that happen. It just highlights how much trouble we are in there and how we need effective leadership.
