| O'Lielley's choice of words- "Coit Tower" not "Transamerica Building" |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 11:55 PM by mgdecombe
I believe his little rant was purely pre-meditated. The natural terror target in SF would be the Transamerica Building, considering that the target in NY was the Twin Towers. A center for commerce in the heart of the financial district, this would be the most devastating target. Notice that O'Lielly chose to rant about attacking the Coit Tower, a tourist attraction, and, by the way, a memorial to SF Firefighters.
O'Lielly knew that if he targeted the Transamerica Building in his rant, he would have any number of powerful corporations down his back before he could even get to the next commercial break.
This is just one more thing that pisses me off about that freak, and I hope that the FCC will respond to our outrage.

Great art from the Depression era. Worker's art, from a worker's perspective.

SF represents everything he is afraid of.

| 3. There is nothing "off the cuff" about O'Liely |
|
He's a schemer and a manipulator - a classic RW talking head. It's funny how, like Bush, he's decided to fight than admit he was wrong. I wonder if they both realize that only bad can come with their attitudes.

The Transameric building in San Francisco would be the west coast analog. Bin Laden and the Islamists hate the materialistic, commoditized and hedonistic nature of a capitalist economy.

I realize that the "Pyramid" is the official name.
Sometimes we call it the "Tower".

In any case, my hope is that all of the city will be spared both terrorist attacks and earthquakes, but I suppose that the possibility of a quake is just one of the prices we pay for living in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

I worked through two quakes in SF - pretty scary when those towers start bouncing and swaying around and you look out the window at the other buildings and you think you're having a bad acid trip.
