When Cindy Sheehan first arrived at Camp Casey on the doorstep of your Dear Leader, I had several posts indicating that it was a turning point. That is was the beginning of the end of the war. I compared her to Rosa Parks, MLK and other great civil rights and anti-war leaders. You reposted those threads and laughed at me and the very thought that you then still popular war would ever be abandoned by America. You told us that we represented no one but the filthy hippie crowd and that this entire movement was a joke. You gloated and gloated in the twilight of your power. Just the way you always do.

I think they call that HUBRIS. It is a flaw of many in power.

Here are samples of a couple of my posts from the time. Reread them you torture apologist, war-mongering, freaks. I think just a few months later you will find they were pretty accurate. Your war is now being openly rejected by the American public and finally the Democrats in congress.

Those of us that stood up against you brainless, neocon, bushbots since before this shit began will win out. When I Get To Crawford I Plan To Erect This Historic Marker At The Site!!!
I have said since this event first started rolling that what we were seeing was historic. I have made many comparisons to Rosa Parks and the Anti-war movement in the 1960's.

I have proclaimed this newly galvanized movement a force that will not be stopped. Metaphors I have used range from and avalanche to a steamroller.

I even argued at one point that Larry Mattlage would do better to bring lemonade to Camp than come out trying to run folks off with a gun because someday this spot was going to have it's own historic marker and that his home will probably be added to the National Register Of Historic Places.

Based on that comment, I decided this morning that when I arrive TOMMORROW (YEAH!), I will be bringing this graphic in a nice LARGE format to erect outside of camp:

I have not felt so juiced and ready to go since this stupid illegal war started. Pura Vida Dreamin referred to it as "Our Ukraine". Great description!

I truly believe that this protest action is EXACTLY what we have all been waiting for. The one that is going to bring it all together!

Up until now, the Anti-war movement has been composed of a large number of .orgs, none offering a face. Someone that America could identify with. Not to take away from the great work of these organizations, as they have been making important things happen all along!

It is just that it is hard for a news viewer to empathize with an organization. Cindy Sheehan has stepped up in her grief and become someone that all Americans can relate to on a personal level.

Call me an optimist. But, I think this is going to ignite broad nationwide opposition. Not just "disapproval", active opposition!

I have been on this ride for a long time now, I have been to several major demonstrations, I have closely tracked others. This feels very different to me. "Old school" for lack of a better description.

None of the blatant partisan games. Just us people camping on the guy's doorstep until he deals with us or he sneaks out the back door. Then we follow the coward to Washington!

I took a bit of a breather but this is what I did
last Friday

Sporting the finest in old fashioned granmotherly wear
20 of us gathered in front of the Hyannis recruiting
center to protest the death of our soldiers and
Iraqi innocents in this Illegal and Immoral war.

We sang the old ragin granny standards outside
the recruiting stations door and then mustered
up the courage to go inside. Only the marine recruiter
was there and we certainly, clearly had him flumoxed.

He did regain his composure and called in Barnstable's
Finest, 4 cops proud. Who immediately told us we
must leave this private property as we were impeding
business!

We made sure to leave a path in the hall for
anyone who needed to come or go.

Some yelled out that We the taxpaying people pay for
this government operation. I yelled out that I was
ready to join the marines, where do I sign up.
That I would gladly go so that some young 3 toured
could come home. Added that they needed my skills
as a critical care RN, as our troops are dying
and getting blown up faster than they can recruits.

Funny that the kid did come out and asked me how old
I was, and when I told him he told me I was too old.
(I could run circles around most his soldiers-btw)

We did notice he had a young kid with his dad in the
office, and yelled out if he tells potential recruits
about depleted uranium.

One granny spent some time in discussion with this
young child, but it was too late he had signed the
papers before we got there apparently.

Things got tense and we had not gone there with the
intentions of taking it to the next step of civil
disobedience, however although Diane, Mimi and I
are ready, we did not have a support system in place.
Cooler heads prevailed and over the next two weeks
we will be in planning stages with the guidance
and support that is necessary for the movement
to flourish. I predict that before the new year
I'll have been booked and printed.

I was with the formidable Diane Turco of Cape Codders
for Peace and Justice, and Mimi Evans, who has a son
in Iraq currently and was a fabulous speaker
at Camp Casey outside the pig farm in Crawford.
These are two strong willed, kind, beautiful women
who I am proud to know, and look forward to
working with them intensly to end this deadly lie.
