It thoroughly disgusts me that anybody, ANYBODY, anyone who calls themselves an American citizen could condone MeanJean's Murtha-bashing episode on the floor of Congress. In the late 1700s she would have been tarred and feathered for such nasty public behavior. Unfortunately (or maybe FORTUNATELY for us) Jean Schmidt is the face of today's Republican Party - a cruel and heartless bunch of self-centered wealthy, homophobic, and elitist citizens.

Personally I'd like to thank Ms. Schmidt for putting on that silly gymnast suit and making a fool of herself...she reminded us there's a house seat in that district we almost won the last time, we need to work on again next year...my checkbook is ready!

Although I no longer live in Portsmouth, I was born and raised there and several members of my family still live there. I guess I'll have to write another LTTE explaining to this fool that there are many folks who, though they may no longer live in Portsmouth, still care that RW extremists such as Jean Schmidt bring shame upon our community. Also, Mr. Throroughman is misinformed: it is HE who represents the minority in Scioto County, which voted for Paul Hackett by a 65% to 35% margin.
