1. He's the one who encourages so much air travel

from National Airport. The local governments wanted to limit travel from National because of it's closeness to DC, Arlington and Alexandria. McCain led the charge in Congress to keep the maximum amount of travel from National. Around D.C. it's hard to even think straight with all the planes flying around.
