The Cabal in the White House does not want you to know that 3,000- 6,000 died. IMHO that would be my guess of the total dead, 3,000-6,000.

How do we know their condition?
If the United States does not do body counts how can Bush say there are 30,000 Iraqi casualties (more or less)?

who won't be counted before their homes are demolished and those who just aren't counted in the total for political reasons many were washed away to sea.
In October there was an announcement that only six people died in the Super Dome. We are to believe it took two months for the authorities to count six bodies? please.

This isn't the first time a death count has been in error. If memory serves me, there were rumors that there were upwards of 10,000 American troops dead in Iraq; the number seems to have been based on a casualty count of all injuries to all combatants, which included minor injuries in the number, sometimes several per person.
Does anyone know what this 6000-missing figure is all about?

And sucked down the drain pipes. They were having problems with body parts clogging up the drain parts. Who knows how many bodies were not accounted for.

| 12. The last time I downloaded names of the missing from |
|
National Center for Missing Adults and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children there were over 5,000 missing people. Center for Missing Kids says that they believe that many of the missing kids are from 'fractured' families - the kids lived with mom and when mom and kids evacuated dad listed the kids as missing and still doesn't know where they are. Maybe this accounts for a bunch of kids, but what about the 1,000's of adults?
It is important to get the numbers right - which is why, when I post about this, I have held back from saying they were dead. Then again, in testimony given in Congress last week (or week before) Dyan French made a statement about this - paraphrasing - so many are gone, we know they are dead, why don't they just tell us they are dead so we can have closure?
I think the number dead is over 1,300 and I think that there are lots of people who would benefit from a higher number being released so I am suspicious.

That is still a lot of Americans not accounted for. Look if in Sept 8, 1900 when Galveston TX. got hit by a major hurricane they knew that they lost 6,000 people. We are talking 2005 and Bush and his Stupid people don't know how many were lost in New Orleans. What gives??? Bush just likes to lie.

I think there really is a mindset that no disaster on American soil, and especially not a disaster made worse by the incompetence and institutional class-and-racism of the pretzelhead administration, must be allowed to surpass 9/11 in any way, lest it give the people an alarming shock of perspective. That's why (and probably the main reason why) these calculating assholes must not be looking forward to the 3,000 dead soldiers "benchmark" in Iraq.

And there are more homeless people or people without friends or relatives to report them missing that aren't counted in that number.
In all this time, where else would they be? A minority MIGHT be lost in the system.

There has got to be a fairly large number who are actually dead. I think we can safely assume that much at least.
They have lists of who was at what shelter and who received FEMA benefits. And these missing people aren't showing up on those lists? Very strange.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-11-21-katrina-missing_x.htm?csp=34It's not exhaustive, but it explains the situation as the combination of a number of problems. In some cases, the people are dead, but in most others, they simply have moved out or never moved back after having evacuated. --p!

Randi tends to let her verbage and emotion get in the way of facts at times...here's another case.
6,000 are reported missing, but then there are several hundred missing in Chicago right now...a combination of actual missing, deadbeats, runaways and multiple listings. This is also the case in LA, New York and every other major city. We don't know how many of these missing were missing prior to Katrina and their names were carried over when the official list was put together.
Be it 100 deaths or 50,000, I don't see why people are fascinated with numbers. The fact that anyone died of negligence is worthy of a full-scale investigation. The fact this regime sat for four days while the city slid into desperation and bedlam still hasn't been addressed either. Those crimes don't require corpses.
For those who do have family still missing...and yes, I do believe there are those who are still missing...I'm just suspect at that number without further qualification and doucumentation...the truth will eventually come out. I suspect we'll continue to find bodies (as they still are) as they demolish buildings and remove debris...however, the focus should be on rebuilding for the living and then justice for the deceased.
