Woohoo! Progressives moving to California! Please turn my state bluer!
Where in SoCal? I'm in the Temecula Valley, about an hour north of San Diego on the inland freeway. We are exactly 19 miles from the beach; unfortunately, there's a mountain range in between us and the coast. I love it out here! Riverside County - the housing is relatively less costly.
Now, if we could only ship the 'Pugs to some other locale ...
:woohoo:

But don't be disappointed if you find more of the same here as you had back home. The nice thing is that this state is so diverse that you can always find a group of like minded people to have as friends.
I just saw that you are going to Santa Rosa. You are going to love it.

While I will always have a certain amount of love for my home state, there are too many close-minded people here to contend with. It is a shame, because it could have so much potential, and it is a really inexpensive place to live, which will not be the case in California. But I did see how cheap the schools are, and I am thinking hard about the Santa Rosa Junior college for both a Culinary Arts and Sustainable Agriculture certification. I am still stunned by how inexpensive the schools are!
