Are we going to see another attack in this country early next year?

Was listening to Thom Hartmann earlier, and a caller brought this up. Currently Democrats are showing some spine, and the Patriot Act is being held up. Note that Republicans have no desire to use the 90 day extension while the problems are worked out.

Now we have Snoopgate, which can be used either way in the event of another attack. If he stops the illegal spying, he'll be able to claim that we were attacked because he couldn't spy, or because the Patriot Act was not reapproved.

And all of this going into an election year. Combine that with the current RW talking points regarding Democrats and Iraq/spying/etc, and we would be witnessing another coup...unless the Democrats managed to turn it to their advantage, which I believe is genetically impossible.

...and I wonder if the Dems are being set up. It would seem that another MIHOP would serve the PNAC agenda TOO well. It almost seems obvious it will happen now. Even if the Dems are wise to this potential, I fear there is little they can realistically do to prevent it. And now, the Bushies are in the hot seat - and they are under the microscope. In many ways, they are like a cornered animal - you never know what they will do in that situation. sigh...

I'm putting my money on a bombing ... either a suitcase bomb in a crowded venue (like a Las Vegas casino) or a car bomb. I think the former is more likely.
