I'm visiting my parents in southern Ohio for a few days. This morning I went XMas shopping at a Sears across the river in West Virginia, and scotch-taped to the door, there was an 11x17 white computer printout that said "Merry Christmas" in some Microsoft font. At the bottom was a barcode with "Merry Christmas message" written above it in tiny print. It completely stuck out from the carefully designed holiday advertising present everywhere else.
Apparently, fear of Christofascists has compelled stores to post the official government-approved slogan of the month in all high traffic locations. Glad we're all celebrating the season joyously.

I even was on a message board where a nice poster had created a lovely holiday picture and wished everyone happy holidays, and of course one poster had to say that was "wrong" and only merry christmas was right. I'm sure that made the non-Christians on the board feel very nice-and everyone on this board knows that there are non-Christians there.
