| Does Rush & Hannity plant fake liberal callers to make em'sound dumb? |
|
I've wondered this for a while. Whenever someone calls Rush & goes against him he mutes them & interupts them & gets tongue tied & pissed off. One day this week someone called & said they were liberal & made an ass out of themself. Rush didn't mute them or interupt & then he had a very quick comeback. It was almost too perfect!
Sean Hannity does this more I think. He just happens to have something in his hands like he knows someone will call in & challenge him. Its just a little too convient IMO. What do you think?

I think that's it. Acting like a half-wit with the screener may get you through.

On the other hand, anybody who calls Rush to have an intelligent conversation probably isn't too intelligent to begin with.

In other words,Liberal callers were stacked-up until they just hung up...I discovered this while posing as a NeoCon after being put onhold the previous day. Sure! Why get real callers. Once in a while a Librul will slip in....but not often.:puke: :puke:

some of those calls are so obviously phony. You can tell they are scripted nonsense based on what a right wingnut would THINK a liberal would say. It's garbage.

| 6. Rush is actually a poor debater. |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-25-03 11:29 AM by The Night Owl
I have heard Rush get chopped to pieces by very smart and informed callers.
The problem is that smart and informed callers rarely make it past Rush's call screener. When they do make it past the call screener, these callers make short work of Limbaugh's false logic and ridiculous arguments.
This is why Rush never debates well known people in the media. He would be exposed for the fraud that he is.
Think The Wizard Of Oz.

Rush finally cut him off but I'll bet someone got an earful for letting him through!

| 8. Rush never "debates" outside of his show |
|
He went on Letterman a while ago, and Dave said "You know, you really are full of hot air", and Rush was so disoriented that he struggled painfully through the rest of the interview.
Rush needs a dump button to "debate".

It is just like WWE. Nothing is believable from either of those two. It is show business and they are hauling it in because Americans love it. Don't listen or watch and you will sleep better.

Several years ago Rush tried a talk show with an audience. I saw the one (I think it was the last one) where the screeners obviously fell down on the job. Three young men stood up and started throwning questions at Rush. He absolutely folded and ran from the stage.

They looked like a bunch of Stepfords with deer-in-the-headlights stares. The "Ooohs", "Ahhhs", and applause were so pathetic they were obviously prompted.

Who pulled off a fake war by claiming there were non-existant wmds, pulled off a fake rescue, faked the "deaths" of a dictators sons (because personally I don't believe their dead, not until theres some conclusive dna evidence, preferably offered up by Iraqi doctors) to boost troop moral, and you want to know if they might have "liberal" plants to make the left wing look stupid? thats an easy yes.

I can attest thought that we, The Guy James Show, do not use such tactics.
There have been a couple of conservative callers that I thought might be fakes but then as they kept yapping it became apparent that they were deadly serious.

| 20. That may be the downfall of Liberal radio. |
|
We need to do "Show business" That is what sells and that is the key. Selling the message. Politics is drab and to most quite boring. Spice it up. Create some controversy. Create interest in a very un-interesting subject. That is what Rush excells at. He spices up his views with all sorts of gimmicks and apparently it works well. He signed the biggest contract ever for radio. I'm not saying you need to lie like they do but you definitely need to spice it up. IMHO. Not just by belittling the Bush* Administration but by entertainment. I don't know the hows and how nots, but people like excitement and entertainment.

is the give away, it gives Dave time to look up the issue and feed it Rush. I'm sure some are "planted", but if you've ever gotten thru you know they ask you several questions regarding your comments. Sort of a pre-interview.

| 18. Watch CSPAN's Washington Journal |
|
Rush, Boortz, Hannity...none of the rightwing hate talkers could make it on this program. The guest takes calls and emails. The guests are usually very experienced government officials, journalists, elected officials, and people who are credible experts in their professions. The callers are very well informed. The guest really has to be sharp because the people watching are armed with sources and facts. Washington Journal restores your faith in the quality of people out there...both as callers and as guests. No partisanship is shown in who the guests are or the topics during the open call-in time.

| 21. Rush explained it in "The way things ought to be" |
|
Which I picked up for 12.5 cents on half-price day at the second-hand store.
Not the exact quote, but here is the gist:
"My job is not to make the callers look good. I use the callers to make myself look good."
The only left-leaning callers allowed to debate Rush are those who obviously couldn't fight their way out of an imaginary paper bag.
