| Clark's political experience.. |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-10-03 03:13 PM by webkev
Clark has plenty of experience... You don't need to know sh*t about politics to be in it, we all already know that. Bush never did anything in life but screw up in school, get in trouble with the law, own half a baseball team and become governor of the most 'stuck in the 19th century' state.
When your a president you're in charge of executive powers. The justice system enforces and mends the laws written by the legislative branch. Each three branches share an equal power. The president's executive powers make him in charge of diplomatic policies and the military. That's why they call him COMMMANDER-IN-CHIEF, the general of generals.
So why wouldn't a retired general fit the role of a great president? There is no reason why he wouldn't, and it appears that most Americans believe so. Which is why he is already the democratic frontrunner after Dean and beating Bush in popularity. Because we all know, even the few who once voted for Bush, that he screwed up very big in Iraq. And many of you regret giving him your vote
So what if Clark once supported Republicans? The two parties aren't bloodthirsty gangs that should hate each other! Sometimes... the Republican is the better candidate, and I'm a Democrat.
The point is, someone messed up our economy and foreign relations, now we need a man to replace him. We need someone who will apologize to other nations for Bush's erratic behavior, and mend our relations. Then we need a man to fix our job and economy problem. And finally we need a man who knows about the military. A man that knows that soldiers are not just expendable grunts... but everday people like you and me that don't deserve to die like this. And the military is used not for the offense, like the Nazis did.
So that's why Wesley Clark is still a frontrunner, and has my vote,,

To rise to the top in the military, Clark obviously knows how to play the game THERE. It shows he has the ability to play politics, but politics in the military and politics on the hill and WH are likely quite different. Based on that, both Clark and Dean aren't as strong as some of the others. But, they're still my top two choices (I've liked Kerry in the past, but he's all but out of the race IMO). I just read Isikoff's essay on his support for Clark, and I've got to agree. He's got my vote, but if Dean gets the nom, I'll be out buying Dean 2004 stickers too. I'm not into all this bashing, even if I see weakness.

| 3. "Clark's political experience.." |
|
is zero.
clark's experience in jobs and economy - zero
clark's experience in wars - 100%
What most Americans need and want - someone w/experience in jobs and economy.
You do the math.

| 6. Actually he taught economics, and has worked with politicians |
|
even if he has never saught political office himself.
Do Maddeline Albright and George Stephonopolous and Bill Cohen and Andy Card and Karl Rove have no political experience? They've never run for office?

| 10. I think the American public |
|
might have a problem with voting for a president that has no political experience. Obviously the guy's brilliant, Rhodes Scholar, 4 Star General. But, I think that he should have done a term as senator or governor before jumping to the top spot. I think Rove would have a field day with that. I'd really like him in office, though, and I think he would be perfect for VP.
With that said, if he wins the nomination, I'll be first in line to cast my vote for him in November. :)
