| I just saw Jim Hightower for the first time on Daily Show. Wow! |
|
He is a doll, so adorable and funny. I have heard of him, but just never heard him speak or never saw him. I am most impressed. Gotta have that book.

C-Span actually broadcast his radio show for a couple of hours one time!
The Daily Show will be on here in 25" and I can't wait to watch. I am so glad you like JH; he's just great!

Almost over now, but you can hear the replay later at www.democracynow.org. Great speech from last nite in NYC, when he kicked off his nationwide tour.
Kudos to Jon Stewart for having him on-- I'd never seen him on TV before!
On edit-- The speech is over but Amy Goodman is interviewing him now! (9:50 AM)

that is still my very favorite Texas-ism. Jim Hightower may be the funniest politician in the history of Texas (and that's saying a lot when the competition is Ann Richards and oh so many Repugs who were funny but not on purpose ;-) )

| 8. Reading that book on a train in Chicago... |
|
...allowed me to meet some really neat people with the inter-faith comittee on peace or something like that. They were in town for a conference. We talked peace and subversion for about 1/2 an hour. All because the one fella recognized the book I was reading!

and his wrecking crew of ugly Repuglican re-districtors and ex-terminators, Jim is a breath of clean prarie air. I'd go way out of my way to see him in person some day.
