| Sly Stone - funk genius or wasted loser? |
|
I've been hooked on Sly & Family the past few months - amazed at the brilliance after all these years. Still - worthy of praise?

| 2. Could be - he's attempted a few miserable "comebacks" |
|
Makes me wonder sometimes. The best music is usually made under the influence.

| 4. Oh my God - Funk Genius |
|
His vocals on "If you want me to Stay" are unearthly.
He definately ranks up there with Stevie and Clinton.

| 5. I heard one of his tunes on the TV a little while ago, |
|
I guess that makes his music "classic". It has stood the test of time.
For that matter, play the video of Woodstock. Most of the music is still good after all these years.

Sly rules. And so does Larry Graham--what can I say, I love fuzzy bass.

|
Don't get me started on him. Very talented but very underrated and underused.

Larry went off on his own with an albumn or two. Pretty good stufff, but it never caught fire. What a bassplayer, man!!!

...was something I got into kind of after the war started. Kind of the mental soundtrack to the protests and stuff.

big... really big, Sly and the Family Stone fan back in the day. I was very dissapointed that he became a wasted loser... all too soon.
