| So I've Been Ignoring Yahoo Messengers "Time-To-Update" Alert... |
|
... and then today, I figure... why not?
So I download the update and it installs automatically. Fine. I go to log in and it won't let me in. I check my proxy settings... all the same... all correct... but nothing works.
I reboot my PC. I reboot the firewall/router pc. I reinstall Yahoo and reboot again.
NOTHING!!
I will never ever ever update any of my working software again. If it's working fine... and if I'm not in dire need of a SIGNIFICANT new feature... then I'll never update again. I promise.
Okay. I feel better now.
Thanks for listening.

Like you, I resisted "upgrading" - but then the computer started acting up. Turns out the machine was infected with the Blaster worm, and Yahoo's upgrade had no effect. I don't know what Yahoo's security issue is - it could be a way to let John Ashcroft know who is criticizing Bush in Yahoo chat rooms.
