I found out that this is a rather common phenomenon, but that doctors sometimes operate after birth if they find this condition. I waited until I was 22... and REALLY... it was totally frustrating, me being a lesbian and all. :evilgrin:

The real reason I did it though, was because, at the time, I was an opera singer, and I couldn't roll my R's.

25. I had that done to my youngest son when he was born

I breastfeed (healthier, etc.) and he couldn't latch on properly and I ended up with (gross, sorry) bloody, miserable nipples the first time I nursed. I find out a few hours later, his little frenulum under his tongue was almost completely attached. (He's couldn't even latch on to a bootle.)
I had to wait 5 of the most miserable, sore days ever for his tongue thingy to get clipped (he would nurse 2 minutes every 20 around the clock, but I'm tough as nails when I have to be for those I love), but it was so easy for him at that age and when it was finally done- instant relief for me! :D

and sometimes I wish I didn't. It can be quite painful listening to some people "sing" or play an instrument. I have both perfect reletive pitch and perfect absolute pitch. So I can tell when someone is out of tune with themself and when they are out of tune when compared to good ol' A 440. It makes my teeth hurt.
