I just picked up the DVD at a used video place for $8. I love that movie but Tim Robbins is scary as a Neo-conservative folk singer runnnig for US Senate in Pennsylvania (he makes Rick Santorum look like a hippie liberal).

Anyone else fans of the movie??

5. Great, great film. Loved Gore Vidal as the liberal incumbent...

Roberts ultimately unseats.

"Bob Roberts" is one of the best political films ever made. Just superb.

6. I can't watch it ever again.

The film enraged me when it first came out... even knowing full well that it was fictional, Tim Robbins does such an incredible job of getting into the character, I couldn't help but be disgusted.

Now, after 10 years of Republican control of Congress, and 3 1/2 years of the most destructive ultra-right wing Presidency in history, I might be capable of putting my fist right through my television screen if I watched it today.

get even more of the references.

I love the DVD, and the commentary by Gore Vidal (Sen. Brickley Paiste in the movie) is terrific.
