| How do you control your appetite? |
|
I'm hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And on a 1500 cal/day diet while shifting the big meals to breakfast and eating little bits throughout the day.
But I want to eat.
Eating tastes good.
Eating feels good.
Eating makes me whole.
Food is my friend.
But food is not my lover!
What's low cal and low fat and low carb that isn't cardboard?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

it's low cal, low fat, good carbs, but best of all -- it isn't cardboard. ;)

| 3. You just have to get used to it. I did something similar two years |
|
ago. The good news is that after two or three weeks you fill up faster.
Also, this is bad advice, but stress and smoking help me eat less.

| 4. I think that is normal when you cut your calories |
|
Your body expects a certain amount of food and you will want more if you aren't getting your normal amount. If you feel the need to eat something more, perhaps you could eat plain vegtables as you need to eat a huge amount of most of them to be consuming a lot of calories. Use spices and herbs in cooking. I think that there are flavorful sauces that are somewhat low calorie. I don't normally like low calorie salad dressings but skinless, boneless chicken marinated in it tastes pretty good anyway. Don't buy high calories snacks. If you buy some higher calorie foods that can fit in your diet in small amounts, buy small packages to avoid eating too much and blowing your diet.

1,500 calories is pretty low for a regular-sized male.
Rather than restricting calories to that degree, I'd recommend eating a bit more (say 2,200-2,500) calories and get some regular exercise.
It will take longer to lose weight, but you won't go crazy doing it, and you'll be much better able to maintain it.

I've done exercise for 4 days and will continue to increase time and duration. I intend to improve the appearance of my bippy. :-)

where are you from?
We used the term "bippy" in my family (they're from Pennsylvania) but I've never met anyone else who used the term?

It is probably purely psychological. You want food merely because you are forbidding yourself to eat more of it. Like I said, use flavorful sauces and spices and herbs. On the otherhand, my appetite responds to activity. Yours might too. Maybe, you'll want to get used to exercising first before cutting calories.

| 11. Spicy Food Works Very Well |
|
Find A Hot Sauce You Like That Has No Sugar (Tabasco Is My Personal Favorite For It's Versatility) Then Dump As Much As You Can Stand On Some Steamed Veggies. It Makes The Veggies Taste Better And The Heat Will Curb Your Appetite And Speed Up Your Metabolism.
Works For Me. The Only Downside Is Wanting A Big Fat Beer To Cool The Throat.

I can't eat when I'm depressed. Other than that, mostly by being selective about what I eat. Don't eat simple sugars, and it's easier to control your appetite. Eat a lot of simple sugars and the resulting blood-sugar rollercoaster guarantees cravings.

I use food as a comfort, a tranquilizer. Agree about the simple sugars. I try raw veggies instead.

| 15. veggies - carrots are nice and crunchy and a little sweet |
|
a little non-sugared yogurt might be nice, and popcorn or rice cakes (while not zero carb or cal) are good. Apples are ~ 25 calories.
