On "Super Surgery" is one of the best hours of television... EVER.
Did anybody see it? I show it to friends all the time (keep it on Tivo) and most people just LOVE it but a few are really super-freaked out and can't watch it.
Anybody else like surgery shows?

this really sweet woman, relatively young and with a young child had a tumor that wrapped around her entire body. Most doctors believed it to be inoperable, but she found a doctor who agreed to try to remove it.
They did. It was an amazing operation that went on for something like 30 hours. Afterward, she was essentially treated as a burn victim - they had to regrow all the skin she'd lost.
A year later, she was just a whole new person: you can't imagine the difference. The show covers the whole ordeal. The surgery itself was incredible. She had thumb-thick blood vessels feeding the tumor that had to be handled one by one. They needed to rig up a device to flip her over during the surgery, as they peeled the tumor away from her body.
Her attitude was incredibly inspiring - she was good-humored and uncomplaining during the whole thing. If you get cable, it's shown fairly often on the Discovery channel. The show is called "Super Surgery" and the episode is called "200 lb Tumor".
