Don't drive fast. Obey the rules. Don't allow your friends to talk you into doing stupid things. I know you have probably heard these things before but they're important. Sorry to nag but when you're young it's easy to forget.

Wear your seat belt!!
Those Toyota's last forever. We've had several, always bought them used but well maintained. My husband changes the oil & filter every 3,500 miles.
Keep up the maintenace.
My first car was a 56 Chrysler which was 10 years old when I bought it. The floor was rusted out and I had a 2x4 holding up my seat. Gas was 28 cents a gallon. Sheeeesh, I'm such a geezer ;)

almost forever. The best car I've ever had was a Toyota Celica that I drove over 300,000 miles.

I use Valvoline High Performance 60 weight in all my cars. It makes a big difference and it's a great added protection for your car. If you live in a cold climate it can sometimes make the car hard to start in the morning, but the extra cost for this extra protection is well worth it. Don't use the crappy oil they sell you at Jiffy Lube.
