Forgive me if this has been brought up already, but I've been out of town and away from DU for a week.

I won't mention any spoilers about the movie (those of you who have seen it, PLEASE don't ruin the surprise ending for people who haven't seen it yet), but I can't help but think the movie is an intentional slam at Bush. Hell, the people in the movie even have a color coded "alert system". When the color red shows up, they all shit their pants and hide, kinda like we're supposed to do.

I'm LOVING this new trend of sneaking subtle jabs at Bushco into mainstream movies. Someone who refuses to see F9/11 will go to see "The Village" or even "Anchorman" thinking they're totally non-political, which they are for the most part, but they'll still be made to think.

When Denzel Washington and Jonathan Demme were on Charlie Rose discussing the movie, they denied that it was anti-Bush but Denzel said something like why can't it be pro Kerry, wink, wink.
