I sold off one of my paintball guns about a month ago. I got 200 for it and the deal went well. Last week, the person who bought it from me emails me, saying the gun doesn't work and is expecting me to pay half the cost to fix it. I tell him I am not paying, and he is now mailing the gun back and expects me to give him a full refund. This is total fucking bullshit and he is ripping me off. If the gun was actually broken when I sold it, he should have said something right away, not last week. What the hell should I do?

I would think a month is more than long enough. I don't think the original seller has any obligation to the person he sold it to a month later as it is a private sale of used property. I know that state law can vary though, so the OP may want to check up on that.

Tell him that if he wants the gun back, then he should pay you S&H charges. Otherwise he loses the gun and his money.

"Hey..If you would have E-mailed me...say a week after you bought it and said it was broken then we would talk. But after a MONTH???... You gotta' be kidding" You could have popped up 10,000 rounds in a month....

That might answer your question. Maybe he doesnt know to load it first ;) Honestly though, maybe there is a compromise there if you had more info. Or maybe you would be assured that its something HE is responsible for.

One, the feed system doesn't work. It always worked for the year and a half that I used the gun. Second, there was uncontrollable trigger bounce, which is not suprising considering the aftermarket trigger I have on it. It is supposed to have bounce, but not as he describes it. If the feed system doesn't work, how can he know that there is trigger bounce?

In case that wasnt obvious enough, IDIOT! :)
Wish I knew more about paintball guns but I dont. Maybe a phone call to offer some tips or walk him through cleaning, loading, and operation.
Good luck

I know nothing about them other than they hurt like hell. Went out once back in the 80's when they were relatively new and got my ass handed to me. I think I had about 10 rounds in a pump? rifle against a gravity fed pistol with a freakin barrel full of paint balls on top of it. And, he got the high ground on me. I was riddled with welts within 15 minutes.
Lesson: Dont cede the high ground and dont ever bring a knife to a gun fight!

| 9. Queen of garage sales here... |
|
When a person buys a used item, there is no warranty, implied or expressed, unless the seller states so.
Too bad. The guy paid for a used item for a lesser price than a new item, and the item lasted a month. That's the chance he takes.
I agree with the poster above...you aren't Walmart. If he wanted a three-month warranty, he should have bought a new gun.

The credit card company can't make you do shit...unless they sue you...which is unlikely for $200.00

If you buy something used and keep it for a month without testing it, you are a moran.
If you buy something used, keep it for a month without testing it, and then expect the other guy to pay for fixing it, you are probably a member of the Republican party.
If you buy something used, keep it for a month without testing it, expect the other guy to pay for fixing it, and threaten some sort of action, you probably work for Dick Cheney.
That is SO damn annoying...sorry. Counter with a threat of a defamation or fraud suit? Or invite them to small claims court. Usually frauds like that will back down once you threaten back...especially once you mention recuperation of court costs and other damages. I did that with a former landlord.
