They were on a fishihng trip with their pal, Jim "Asshat" Pattison, on his big friggin' yacht. I didn't see hide nor hair of them though. Too bad, I had my lines all figured out: "Hey there, one-term president!" followed by "Like father like son!" Come to think of it, maybe it's for the best that I didn't get the chance. I'm sure the Sea Hag would have fired laser beams from her eyes, frying me to a blackened crisp.
I did go on a whale watching trip from Telegraph Cove (highly recommended), and I wore my Oscar prize, the Suspect #50966039 shirt. Turns out there were some Americans on the trip, NY and California, so I paraded it around as best I could. No comments on it, they must have been Dems, Repubs would have been more inclined to make snide comments.

That's cool, so very few people actually live there. That may change, they've set out a bunch of new building lots, plus a nice RV park (where we stayed). Such is progress. I wondered for a while if the water there made me sick later in Parksville, but since our friends got it too, it had to be good ol' Boston Pizza.
Did you drive Hiway 3 from Vancouver to that other place when you worked there? Holy shit, what a trip! Especially from Salmo to Creston, great fun when you're dragging a trailer.

We went through that way and up Hwy 22. We went through westbound last summer, too, and were going to come back that way but found it closed.
Hwy 3 must be a riot in the winter. I was especially immpressed with that climb out of Osoyoos eastbound. Sheesh! I thought it would never end! I'm not sure my old van would have got the trailer up that hill.
