I hope they have cell phones so they can hopefully call you when it's over. I'm worried about family too.

But also don't try to call them now. I tried to call my parents during a hurricane that wasn't even a Cat 2 and Mom was freaking out and said she'd call when it was over. They're hunkering down I'm sure.

Your folks might not have phone service for awhile either.

Relax, it will pass in a few hours...then try to reach them.

try to give them a call...we expect power to go out..and lose phone service........I'm sure they would like to hear from you also.

St. Petersburg here..tried to get most poeple out.only ares left are D and E zones.........I live in the E.........what bothers me the most is the tornados .which now are starting to make landfall.....

7. forgot,we are under curfew

from dawn to dusk for the next few days..power has been shut off near the beachs in order to conserve energy.the main bridges not closed yet.to ones that go to Tampa....our bridges are all closed from the beaches........the main bridges will be closed when the winds hit over 40 miles per hour.......

4. My Dad lives in Safety Harbor...

...a bit Northeast of St. Pete, about on the NARROWEST piece of that little bitty peninsula.

5. I've got 4 siblings in the area. Brother in Tampa, brother in

Sarasota, 2 sisters in Naples.

And, of course, their spouses and children.

They're certainly on my mind today.

9. I just talked to them

They told me the storm was going inland ahead of Tampa. It should hit full force in their area(Sun City Center) about 7 or 8 tonight. It is only raining right now there but a lot of tornadoes.

Their area was told they didn't have to evacuate. Anna Marie Island is mandatory evacuation though.

12. Just moved my mother in-law to Sun City Center 10 months ago

She lives on Villeroy Greens Drive.
She Say's, she's not moving.
Called the Police Dept, and the Sheriffs Dept, and gave them her name and address ,just in case. Hope everybody's gonna be OK.

Gonna try the Bass fishing again while I'm there. Theres a 10 pounder with my name on him/her, at lake Toho, missed I'm last time.
