This is based on another thread. I thought I was the only woman who actually "got" the Stooges. I'm pleasantly surprised to know there are others like me out there.

So women, honk if you love the Stooges. Or poke someone's eye out. Or something.

Iggy was/is most certainly NOT a poser or a poseur! The band was Iggy Pop and The Stooges, Iggy wasn't a Stooge, those were the bandmates.

8. Love the Stooges -- even Shemp.

When I was younger, I was too embarrassed to admit this. But now I'm PROUD, PROUD, PROUD! Also love Laurel and Hardy, the Marx Brothers, Monty Python, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Jaques Tati, and Rowan Atkinson. If it's stupid in an intelligent sort of way, I love it.

9. I love them all except for Curley Joe.

I once watched a Stooge marathon. Three shorts in a row used the exact same footage in each movie where at a fancy party, Moe throws a cake up in the air to hide it, it sticks to the ceiling, a plump grande dame starts talking to him, he hightails it, she looks up, and the cake makes impact.

The Stooges are geniuses. The dialogue is witty, the comedic timing impecable. I'd put up their parody of Hitler and Mussolini against The Great Dictator.
