| What's up with all the empty seats at the Olympics? |
|
It's not because Greeks are poor, they have held the games in much poorer countries than Greece and put butts in the seats.

| 4. I know the Iraqis got a huge cheer during the opening ceremonies. |
|
That would make sense though wouldn't it. We have gone from a country people love, to a country people love to hate, all in the span of 3 short years.

...what's up with the Swiss beach volleyball team? There isn't enough sand in Switzerland do fill an hourglass, and they just kicked the US teams rear ends.

they've overpriced the tickets.
They aren't even discounting tickets to unpopular events.
They may not even break even on these games.

| 8. AND it is August in Europe everyone is on vacation |
|
Ssssssssh they don't want us Americans to know that two weeks of vacation is a joke especially when you work 50+ hours a week as many do.
When I was in the Army in Germany several of the BARS we hung out in were closed for the month......PAID vacation mind you.

Is it true that NBC's coverage of the games sucks even though they paid something like $765million for the right?
There was a story over here that they were pissed that the BBC was multicasting events live on the web.

| 10. I know, we were in Australia last year, and... |
|
...they get two months off a year out there. These fascist sweatshop, union busting, profit only, dehumanizing corporations out here would not even THINK about doing that. They would rather outsource all the jobs to the third world if their employees get "uppity".

Quite a lot of the non-"big draw" events were empty in many previous Olympics.
Go back and check on some of the older coverage of previous times. You'll find that a lot of events that aren't the big tickets had plenty of empty seats.
If the empty seats are at the women's gymnastics events, it's likely that the pedophiles musta got caught in the security sweeps . . .

here's one theory. . .
Got an e-mail today from an organization called "Stardoves" (haven't a clue how I got on their list). They bombard me with at least three enormously bloated missives a day. Am tempted to get off their list but every so often there is one that's priceless.
Most of them are ads for pricey spiritual tours for vortex hoppers or other New Age products.
But today I got one that for some reason, I was unable to transfer to this post.
It said. . .'
"The $ 8 billion Olympics
The Law of Karma in Action
Empty Stadiums Memorialize the Abandoned Greek Animals Killed in the name of Greed.
I had heard a few stories about them putting massives of stray dogs to death in Athens prior to the festivities. This e-mail had picture of burned kittens, and urging people to save the whales."
tres bizarro.
