| Will Ferrell vs. Jack Black |
|
Who is funnier? Yes,I know its all opinion but isn't why many come here to voice their opinions? My observation: Ferrell is funnier in a scripted setting while Black is just a naturally funny guy,who is always at the ready with a funny line. I've seen both on The Daily Show and Ferrell was a disappointment for me...might have just been a bad night...don't know. Maybe some of you think there are even funnier people out there...exercise your 1st ammendment rights!!!

I actually can't stand Ferrell. I never found him funny. He was SOOOO over-used on SNL that I got real sick of him, real fast.

Ferrell on SNL got tiresome, but then SNL has been tiresome for years.
Ferrell in other setttings can be hilarious. Some of his film roles have been gut-busters.

| 13. That was a pretty serious role ... |
|
... it wasn't comedic at all. BTW, he was HILARIOUS him in "Saving Silverman".
I think the true tell of any GREAT comedic actor is they're even better as DRAMATIC actors (Robin Williams, Tom Hanks). To me Ferrel is just stuck in his dumbass over-the-top motif. I've never seen him play any other type of character.

| 7. I've heard that Jack comes across as quiet and aloof in real life |
|
Edited on Tue Aug-24-04 03:40 PM by Winter1979
Of course, that's just hearsay. Ferrell's performances are so over-the-top that he seems really serious in a normal interview setting.
I think they're both pretty darn good - really liked "Elf" and "School of Rock." My personal preference is Jack Black.

... often comes across as aloof by overly social people who would freak if they were alone for more than an hour.

I don't find Will Ferrell funny at all. Everything comes off as a poor rendition of his over-the-top cheerleader.
What I would LOVE to see Will Ferrell do is an impersonation of the Andover Cheerleader named BUSH along with his gay cheermates.

By all means!
- Craig the Cheerleader
- Robert Goulet (especially his rap album, lol)
- ANY of his appearances on Conan O'Brien
- Janet Reno's Dance Party!
- "GET OFF THE DAMN SHED!"
- the doctor who thinks all of his inappropriate thoughts aloud in front of patients
- Alex Trebek ("suck it Trebek! Suck it long, and suck it hard!")
Ahh.. Will.. may the Saturday Night Live Curse never haunt your door! :loveya:

I like Jack Black but Will has in the edge in my opinion. His harry Carrey impression is too funny to miss. The Robert Goulet rap album skit and the fashion designer guy is very funny too.

I forgot about the fashion guy!
That little scooter that he rides around in, and that tiny, tiny phone that he uses. God, I die laughing every single time I see it..
I'm actually smiling. Geez, that's nice! :)
