And it is storming out right now. I can hear the thunder and see the lightening. This is great. Does anyone else share this love?

And we've had loads of great storms this summer, here in mid-Missouri. I've even gone out chasing them.

I have been deeply depressed for over twenty years when my parents moved us from New York to San Diego. I am a storm lover, and I am dead serious when I say that not being around storms can truly affect you. I hate So. Cal. weather - it is always the same and it flatlines people, makes them numbed out. Too much sun I guess.
God, I envy you!!!!!

I love them. Today is the first day in quite a while we have not had some kind of alert. Our summers have been so dry the last bunch of years but this one has been amazing for storms.

You can see and hear them coming from the west over the mountains. We're on a bit of a hill here and it's wild when the lightning strikes and the thunder cracks together. Scary stuff but good stuff nevertheless.
Dontcha love the word "nevertheless"!

I'm loving it here in Miami, my old home town, and the dependable afternoon thunderstorms. Humidity gets such a bad rap, since it comes with all the glorious outburts. The summer weather in my adopted town of Las Vegas is bland garbage -- hot and hotter and furnace -- not a damn thing to see or hear or cool you down.
