Spent the summer of '83 there working in a textile studio and taking a class in Finnish in the evening. Hyvää maa.

| 2. Yes, I'm quite fond of saunas |
|
However, their language is quite hard to learn, even for a Swedish speaker. :D

| 8. Yep. That's the land of my heritage. |
|
My great grandfather was a semi-famous musician in his day. He was the first chair French horn player in the Helsinki Orchestra when he was only 14. He once met Tsar Nicholas II and was offered a Russian name by the Tsar but turned him down!
One of my proudest possesions is a photo of him with Jean Sibelius taken at Jaarvanpaa. I also have a couple of letters (in Finnish) from Sibelius that were written to my great-grandfather. I guess they had a correspondence that lasted until my GG died in 1939.

| 11. I have been to Finland, briefly |
|
It's a beautiful country and the people were very kind. I have always meant to return, one day. I did find it somewhat expensive and had absolutely no idea what I was eating, but loved it, there, just the same.:-)
