"Y'arnt NEVAH Gonna LEAVE This house!"
Betty Davis real-life disline of Joan Crawford really shows through in this role!

I can recite entire scenes and sing "I've Written A Letter to Daddy!"
Such a great film ... thanks for the heads up! :D

| 11. I hope you wear some red, red lipstick when you sing it. |

I heard that BD (Bette's daughter who has a small role in the film) saw her mother for the first time in full makeup and said, "Mom, that's too much!"

I saw it once, in 1972. I was 12 and home alone for the night. It creeped my out...to the point that I couldn't go to sleep and spent the rest of the night huddled in my mom's bed, with our german shepherd/malamute at my side (yes,on the bed), watching stupid old movies until the sun came up.
I can't even remember what it was about, but I still get a shiver thinking about it.
And in 1972, the choices after midnight were pretty slim. Some sort of mythical hero fighting monsters, and "Attack of the Mushroom People." The mushroom people weren't nearly as scary as "Baby Jane."
Why did it scare me?
