I remember that guy--a buddy of mine thought Gritz walked on water!
I never thought much of Gritz given his party's ties to David Duke and due to Gritz's pro militia stance, but the biggest turnoff for me was his ties to the Chrisitan Patroits' movement...
He just kind of creeped me put...

Wasn't Shirley Chisholm running that year also? (No, I'm not implying that she was a joke -- I know he was. Just trying to get my history straight.)

We found ourselves in Helena when they were holding their county fair, so we went. 1992. There was a Bo Gritz for President booth there, actually more of a card table than a booth. I grabbed his campaign brochure, but unfortunately have lost it since then. I remember two things, one general and one specific. General: I thought this was about the craziest shit I'd ever seen. Specific: his cure for the deficit -- easy, just print lots more money!
