| Am i the only one who hates the news scrolls at the bottom of cable news. |
|
I know most of you will say you just hate cable new sin general, i agree but those scrolls piss me off, they do not need to have them running all the time it is ridiculous.

Isn't Faux responsible for that? I think they were the first to use it full time. :grr:

Ellen DeGeneres did a bit on that when she was doing a tour back in 2000.

I hate it when I am reading a news headline on the scroll and then it cuts off once there is a commercial break .
If the scrolls are so important than why not run them " during " the commercial break .

| 4. They're different when you're wearing sunglasses |
|
Have you noticed? At least when I'm wearing these cheap sunglasses I found on the street one day. When I put them on, the scroll says, "OBEY .... CONSUME .... MARRY & REPRODUCE .... STAY ASLEEP .... WATCH FOX NEWS .... CONFORM ...."

| 5. James Wolcott wrote about them |
|
in Vanity Fair. he saw the end of a blurb that said "radioactive material has crossed the border into the US" He freaked and searched the internet to find what was going on and couldn't find anything. He ended up putting tape over the bottom of his TV screen so he couldn't see the scrolls anymore.

| 6. I'm a pretty good multi-tasker, but.... |
|
I find that if I'm reading the scrolls while trying to listen to the newscast, I end up not fully absorbing either one.
Perhaps that's the point....'just keep people thinking they're getting information when it's really just noise and light.

Frontline with Bill Moyers and C-SPAN is all that I pay attention to now.

|
and she'll all of a sudden ask me about something that just scrolled by. I can't listen to one thing and read at the same time. It's gotten so bad that the local news show here in the morning has adopted one. Thing is, it takes almost no time to come around full circle. What a joke.
