I think he's a Puke, but his rationale was that the Hubble is wearing out and it would be a costly and dangerous mission to do the repairs. He's been catching a lot of flak for that and it doesn't seem partisan; it seems that even being a Puke doesn't disqualify one from appreciating the wonders of Hubble. That telescope has touched many a heart.
