I can't answer that but I really have enjoyed learning about the 1975 one, such drama, from Tiant's game one shut out with his father in attendance, the Ed Armbrister incident, Fisk's game 6 homerun down the left field line, and so many others.

Coal Miner's son hits GWHR in Steel City, jsut a lovely ending and to think that the yankees on paper won that series.

1991, Twins/Braves. 7 game series, almost every game was decided late, in extra innings, etc. Almost all decided by 1 run. A thrilling 1-0 Game 7 win for Jack Morris. That was the best one I've ever seen.

It also was the year the Braves started their current 13 year pennant run, but the braves problem is they choke in the playoffs.

Baseball isn't fair. Life isn't fair.
That series (and the Braves turn around season) renewed a passion in baseball for me for a while. It also had ominous foreshadowing. After Lonnie Smith didn't score (falling for the Knoblauch fake) I _knew_ the Braves would lose 1-0. It also inspired a poem out of me as I watched the bitter end and post game activities:
The Brave
I have walked along the precipice and climbed the rocky mountain trail I have fought the wolves that tore at me whilst slipping in the oil I followed steps of champions And their courageous path I hung upon the frayed rope bridge Above the boiing bath I braved the final summit climb Beyond the Mortal fray I kissed the face of destiny And watched her slip away
(Game 7, 1991 Minnesota 1 Atlanta 0 )

| 11. Pat O'brien said it. (no one the Braves) |

It did have a tragic aspect. The Braves had outplayed the Twins in the series and that game. But for the hesitation... but, but, but...

| 12. Wasn't there a "hidden ball in glove" type fake play involving Kirby |
|
Puckett in that series? Seem to remember something like that.

I think it was Greg Gagne who pulled that one.

| 14. No... you're thinking of Knoblauch |
|
Lonnie Smith was on first and Terry Pendleton smashed a double. Smith should have scored easily, but 2nd base for Twins Chuck Knoblauch acted like the ball was caught and he was waiting for the double up catch (in reality the ball wasn't controlled by the fielder yet). Smith bought the fake and went back to tag up, before he realized his mistake. End result: Braves with men on 2nd and 3rd (one out IIRC) and they stay there. The winning run never scored...

| 16. Yes, that's the one. And if I remember, that cool funky play wound up |
|
being pretty huge in the outcome of that game. Lonnie Smith was a major goat for buying that.
Bernie Mac doing a "hidden ball in glove" play in "Mr. 3000" reminded me a bit of that which made me bring it up.
Even though baseball isn't my favorite sport, no other sport has stuff like that in it.

1997. I enjoyed that one and I wanted the Fish to win because the Indians had just beat my orioles in a heated ACLS and we were the better team!, its ironic, the previous year we had beat them in the ALDS as a wildcard but in this one they were the weak central winner with 10 less wins than us and we lose yet the previous year we had 10 less wins than they did. It was just so sad because Cal hit a homerun in that ACLS heh, sorry for the rant about the birdies but that was a great series.

The universe, deciding that the Curse of the Bambino and the Curse of the Goat need to continue, will end in a whimper rather than allow one of these teams to win.
It rocked. :headbang:
