| Poll question: Why are you up ? |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 01:30 AM by sffreeways
I was just wondering what keeps you up on DU in the middle of the night.
I updated the poll for the folks that are in agony or up doing school work.
I'm in good company.
I have to work at 7 am. I'm going to be a zombie tomorrow.

thanks. I'm painting an apartment tomorrow and I don't usually do that kind of work. It's not going to be a very nice job if my eyes are hanging out of my head.
It's an empty place too so I'm a bit worried I'll sit down and totally doze off. My partner will kill me. Fear of her wrath should keep me going. :scared:

They pulled a tooth on Friday. I think I've got a secondary infection in spite of the amoxycillin the dentist gave me. :(

even though it's horribly painful to do so. I had to work tonight, and couldn't take the Vicodin they gave me; so I took ibuprofin instead. I'm about to take a Vicodin now, since the ibus have probably worn off.

after the vicodin. That stuff makes it impossible for me to sleep. For some reason narcotics have the opposite effect on me. I can't sleep a wink.
I took a percosette at like 10:00 and I am wide awake.

I wear a fentenyl patch that usually takes care of any pain I'm in but there is bad weather coming and it makes the MS act up. I get stiff and my joints ache. It will pass when this storm that's coming passes.
My dentist gave me an antibiotic called veetids for a tooth infection once and it was miraculous. It took the pain and infection away in a matter of hours and you don't have to take the entire presciption like most antibiotics. I think it's a relatively new drug. It's great and works much faster and is more effective for a tooth infection. Maybe your dentist will give it to you.
I hate the dentist. I don't know about you but I really don't like the dentist and I think dental pain is the worst.

I'm starting to feel dopey; so I should get some sleep before too long.
Never had Veetids before. Maybe I'll ask the dentist about it.
I was a little leery of getting Amoxycillin, because it's not very strong, and I tend to get secondary infections after heavy-duty dental work. My regular dentist usually prescribes penicillin; but he doesn't do extractions.
I should have told her on Friday. She was great otherwise...very fast, and not too painful, considering the nature of the work.
Ah well...
I'm fading fast. Hope you can sleep soon.... :)

Due at 1PM tommorrow. It's the third in a four paper cycle in the past two weeks. Next, I compare Common Sense to the Declaration of the Independence.
It's ok, I was fully prepared for tonight. I have peppermint gum and peppermint oil, 3 Starbucks frappucinos, its darn cold in my room right now, all the lights are on, I have set 3 alarms and then hidden my clocks, the TV is on the Home Shopping Network at low volume, and I periodically do deep breathing and stretching.
Thank you, Worst Case Survival Guide: College.

I have a lady friend. She is single, so am I. We have a good relationship as friends and we fulfill our "physical" needs from time to time. Funny, but when I spend the night at her place, I sleep like a baby. Here I have to have my TV and computer on, because I cannot sleep in a dark room. Not a problem when I am with her, though.

I've been sleeping with a TV on all night my entire adult life with the exception of a few years. My partner doesn't mind thankfully. She's gotten used to it.
PTSD too. I had a break for a few years until recently when some terrible personal stuff happened and I'm back to the TV on all night again.
It's company. I wake up and I know where I am, I know I'm okay. The electric bill is a bitch but outside of that I get a good nights sleep as long as it's on.

That sucks. I guess you have Bush to thank for no job and no sleep.
You'll get back to sleep in November when we have a new President.
I haven't been working full time for about the same amount of time. My small business went down the crapper after the coup. It's picking up again and I think it's because people see light at the end of the tunnel and a possible exit for the usurper.
Best to you for the future.
