| 3. Make sure your speakers are turned on |
|
Seriously. I once had to drive halfway across town because a client uses his computer for work (he's a court recorder) and his sound wasn't working. I got there, walked up to his machine, and pushed the power button on his speakers. Ze problem, she was solved.

I can hear them buzzing, I just can't hear any sounds from video clips. I put in a CD and it played just fine for some reason.

Maybe the (wave-)volume is set to zero or the output muted?

| 10. First TURN YOUR SPEAKERS DOWN!! |
|
Okay, good job. Cause when you fix it, you are not gonna want to go out and replace blown speakers.
Do you see a speaker icon next to the time on your taskbar (the thing at the bottom of the screen)? Yes? Right click and uncheck MUTE. If that doesn't work then double click and adjust the sound options that appear.
If that doesnt work, Are you using win 98 or win xp?
