I salute Shilling - a legend forever in New England

Regardless of what happens in Game 7 Curt Shilling is destined to be a legend for all time in New England. With blood soaking his socks he pitched his heart out and took the Sox to Game 7.

As a Yankee fan I salute him.

But, of course, we all know that this is simply part of the larger plan to make Red Sox fans suffer for eternity after tomorrow night's inevitable disappointment.

and I cannot bring myself to salute him....now I have to wait another whole day to watch the Red Sox blow another chance against the Yanks....wonder how they will blow it this time?

A-Rod did not do himself or the Yankees proud tonight.

The fans at Yankee Stadium and the resulting riot gear did not do themselves proud tonight.

got hit by a pitch in Game 5 and has not been the same since....he is not right....the umps clrearly wanted the Red Sox to win tonight...every time Francona came out of the dugout to get a call changed the umps were more than willing to listen to him....

it's Tim "I gave it up like a whore on payday to Aaron Boone" Wakefield tomorrow. The Yanks have both Brown and Vasquez, who pitch well at home, to counter.

Hey, as much as I am disappointed that the Yanks did not wrap it up in the 3 chances they had to do so, it seems to me that these two teams, who stand toe to toe and slug it out year after year, deserve a game 7.

7. Wakefield.....

had the Yanks swinging and missing for 5 innings on Monday night....Yanks are a fastball hitting team and have trouble with the slow stuff....just hope that Wakefilelds pitches will not be dancing around in the cold weather. Brown is due for a solid start, and it helps to have Vazquez backing him up (and Gordon and Rivera are now rested with the night off tonight).

I think Francona mentioned it but also said theyd discuss it.

And besides, hes the most fresh. He started on Sunday. Wakefield probably will standby in the pen.

Two overpaid teams. $230 million vs $200 million (or something like that). The rich get richer playing a game they love and the poor stay poor working at a job they hate.

While Derek Jeter and Joe Torre are making TV commercials about how many checks they sign, a dad looks for a second job to help pay for his sick son's chemotherapy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't we supposed to be against corruption? Do we draw the line at our sports teams?

Baseball needs a salary cap ---- badly. As long as we keep supporting their money-making ways, they'll never institute one.

yes, the salries are out of hand but no one is putting a gun to the owners heads to pay these outrageous salries. Also, baseball allows people to get away from their everyday problems and enjoy the national pastime.
