I know, I know; but some people put up little pumpkin strands. It is nice to light the porch, I have a jack-o-lantern porch light. Sure it's not something like that???

I decorate with the roof and house lights in later OCtober (doing it tomorrow). The reason is that I usually have 3-4 feet of snow and its 5-10 degrees by Dec 1, and I don;t like decorating in those conditions. We usually don;t turn them on until after thanksgivign,l but I do put them on for a night or two once I get them up to see how they look and to get things going with the neighbors.

When I moved in to my neighborhood, the people down the street had this huge sign that said "Jesus is the reason for the season". I thought it was OK because it was January when I moved there. Well, 6 years later and that huge sign is still up..lol.

| 9. The dominionists do this to intimidate us, we will not sway. |
|
They try to put these "Christmas lights" up to impress upon us that they are everywhere we see, and even all over near stores and shopping malls to show their merging of state and corporate power in a dominionist oligarchy.

It does make for a year-round festive look, because my neighbors do turn them on occasionally throughout the year (the lights are a 'neutral' white color, so they fit in with any holiday decor!).
