if you watch carefully, it's a very dark, very sinister and compelling movie.
Frank Capra knew what he was doing. Look beyond the "feel good" crap, and see what you find.

|
Gotta see this one...in the Black and White, not colorized version. (Probably best to rent it and see it without nasty commercials, too.)

|
I think I was 35 the first time I saw it from start to finish, and I completely changed my mind about the movie.
I now count it among my favorite holiday movies.

I always loved him too and that line.

This is the only line from this movie that I like.
I'm glad to see I'm not alone in my "dislike" of this movie.

You sit around here and you spin your little webs and you think the whole world revolves around you and your money. Well, it doesn't, Mr. Potter. In the whole vast configuration of things, I'd say you were nothing but a scurvy little spider.

I'm Jewish, so I never really thought about watching a "Christmas Movie" before my girlfriend made me watch this, but it's actually pretty good.

| 19. I wish I had a tape of the SNL skit of IAWL... |
|
They called it the missing reel of It's a Wonderful Life, Carvey was Jimmy Stewart, and I think Lovitz was Mr Potter.
Anyway they all start singing Auld Lang Syne at the end when the Uncle Billy character suddenly remembers he accidently gave the missing money to Potter. They all charge down to Potter's office, knock him out of his wheelchair and start beating the shit out of him...pretty funny stuff...
