A great site to get cheap computer stuff on Ebay

I needed a laptop but I really didn't have alot of extra money. I ended up getting a laptop from this place for less than $200 (It's an IBM 6OOe - I just need it for my writing and stuff).

But after searching through Ebay, I found some of the best prices from this company and they don't use pay pal (they have a credit card setup from their store).

I know some of you are techno geeks or some may just need a working computer. But the prices are damn cheap. They have a P3 600 Desktop going for less than $100. Oh and all their equipment has a 6 month warranty (my first laptop had a bad keyboard and they replaced it with another laptop).

Definately worth a look!

2. I bought mine brand new

from Best Buy (will be the last *MAJOR* purchase as long as they pander to the right-wing) and now we have 2 years interest free to pay it off, plus $250 in rebates, and I'm asking my wife to fork over $100/mo to keep the cost down.

8. warning about BB's "zero percent" interest

Several years ago we bought a TV from Best Buy under that "no interest for a year" deal.

Now, I think of myself as a wary consumer, but I got taken. The way their scam works is this...

The "year" is from the date of purchase. So, let's say you bought the set on 9/20/03. That makes 9/19/04 your date to watch for.

The bill comes in early September 2004 and says, "No amount due." THis is true because your anniversary date has not passed.

The next bill comes early October 2004 and guess what? You did not pay it off by 9/19 so you now owe the interest too.

I called and wrote and complained, but they would not budge. The supervisor I talked to said, "it is clearly stated in the bill" but how often do we look past that "amount due" box?

Needless to say, that is the last time I bought anything at that store.

5. Be aware

that corporate laptops like IBM, HP and Toshiba frequently have a bios level system administrator password which is usually lost.

So if you want to upgrade the harddrive you can't.

but they have a 6 month warranty so you should be fine. (Plus you can pop the CMOS to fix that on many of the laptops)

its part of ebay but if you hate being outbid by $2 by some auction freak at the deadline then half is the better alternative.

check out cnet.com Great reviews of electronic equipment and they shop a ton of stores for you and rank the items by price. I saved over $100 on my digital camera. It's the best site I've found for saving money on electronics..
