OMG My doorman gave me a Christmas present |
|
He hasn't turned 20 years old yet and I don't think that I can accept it. What should I do?
He gave me a French Laundry Cookbook  I am going to give it back to him because this book looks expensive.
I gave him $25.00 and a gift card from a local coffee shop and I certainly didn't expect anything back. Should I give the gift back to him?

that would be an insult to him. Thank him appreciatively, and tip him generously during the next year. You must be one of his favorite tenants.

2. Good Answer...That would be like saying: |
|
"What..A gift for YOU????"
Also..I'm sure it would hurt his feelings. He probably looked foward to giving it to you... :)

I make him a plate and take it down. He works at least 60 hours a week and he is a student. If he wants coffee I will get him one from our local coffee house on my way back home. I always ask if i can bring the doorman back something that is on duty when I pass them.
I fixed him up with a classmate of mine last week and she is from the same part of Mexico. They make a cute couple and I hope that things work out for both of them.

7. No wonder he wanted to give you some sort of gift. |
|
You should definitely just accept it in the spirit it was given.
I wish I worked for you.

3. No. Don't be insensitive. |
|
He obviously wanted you to have it.
Didn't *you* feel that way about the gift card?

The book costs from $30 to $50 online. He might have even been able to find it cheaper at the right bookstore.

He can't be making that much money and honestly I didn't expect anything from him.

9. After reading what you do for him |
|
I would say that he probably looked forward to giving you that gift. You sound like a resident from heaven and probably mean a lot to him. That is very sweet. Tip him well and keep it up, he obviously appreciates your kindness. Nice story.

10. I'm with most everyone else |

I think he likes you as a tenant and this is his way of saying thank you.
Keep up the tips throughout the year and it will even out.

11. I'm betting he gave presents to his favorite people |
|
the kindest, generous ones. Keep it; he'd be hurt if you returned it.

This boy's 20th birthday is next year sometime. I believe that's a bit too young for me to date although he has asked me out to the movies. I set him up with a girl that was in one of my classes. She was lonely and I believe that he is and they are both from the same city in Mexico so they have something in common.
Someday I will have to watch the Graduate but it was before my time. Mrs. Robinson is famous because there was a song about a few years back.

14. Just remember, he remembered what Jesus TRULY taught. Give |
|
to others. What a great Christmas story to tell us. Give him respect, not a return of the gift. It would hurt him terribly.

17. Hooking up your doorman is the way to go, especially in NYC. People |
|
often forget these little relationships in life.
