| This Computer Tech needs some help. ...#%*@$# Rabbits! |
|
This being Me..
My 2 Rabbits ate my Keyboard wire and destroyed the plug ( PS/2 )
I've got plenty of old cables with attached PS/2 plugs but the wires on all of them are a different color than my present keyboard... (Naturally!)...Anyway, the Keyboard I'm using is fairly expensive...$39.00...so I don't want to buy another one.
I looked on the web for about half an hour and can't seem to find the "code"...Anybody know which wires are hooked-up on a PS/2 jack?
I was gonna' take the old one (that the bunnies ate) and use an ohm meter to figure out which ones were used but they have completely destroyed it.
Thanks much and I'll send you some Rabbit Stew!!

| 2. Isn't PS/2 cable shielded? |
|
Just wondering if it would work correctly even if you did get it matched up right.

My bunny loves computer cables and his absolute favorite are phone cords. Back in the old days when I was using dial-up, I had to keep extra cords on hand because I'd be online and all of the sudden....no dial tone. I don't know how he kept from being bunny toast.
To protect your cords in the future, try putting that plastic wire covering over the cords. I can't remember what the name of it is, but I've seen it covering wires under the hood of cars. I understand that most bunnies don't like to chew it. Google "bunny proofing a house" and you'll get all sorts of good information!
