The best part was my homemade Tempest spinner, made out of an old mouse, a stereo tuner dial and a flywheel made from big steel washers.

... she was very disappointed that she wasn't chosen for the screen version of the musical. Apparently the studios thought that it would be safer to go with someone who had more star-power and name recognition at the time.
I love both the Lucille Ball and Rosalind Russell versions. But between the women who played Vera Charles... BEA ARTHUR is my favorite!
