I sympathize with you from the other side of it.
I ordered some roses and a teddy bear from rosefarm.com (don't use them!)
One of the main reasons I ordered from there was this certain teddy bear they had in the picture on the site... the most awesome bear I have ever seen.
So I also was meeting her for lunch today at her job while on lunch break from my job.
The roses arrived before I did, and I got lucky because she is not materialistic and she likes them, and so she was happy. However, and I didn't make a big deal out of it at the time, but I thought that the roses were nowhere near worth the price paid..these roses had some brown spots and looked a little dismal... I have got much nicer roses for cheaper, and plus, after I SPECIFICALLY specified in TWO e-mails that the bear MUST be the same on on the site and making sure they have it in stock, and to contact me if they didn't. They "assured me"... by basically saying yeah okay place the order.. I should have been more persistent saying I wont order unless you specifically confirm the bear...
.. long story short, the bear, while cute, is NOT the same bear from the site....
And that ticked me off... but the bear we got, he has such a sweet face, and an eager-to-please expression that melted my heart, too... like saying "I know I'm not exactly like the bear you ordered, but if you give me a chance you'll love me too...".. so I have fallen in love with the new bear..."Teddy Bear Medium" is his name now...
.. that's not the point though... from now on I will only do roses locally.. no more websites...
To their credit, they included a piece of paper that said fresh cut roses may not look all that great right off the bat, they last a long time and may take a day or two to open up.. which I understand.. and she did call me later in the day and said they were looking better.. but he initial presentation just didn't seem like they'd put much effort into making it nice, for the price paid, and knowing the price paid for them, plus getting RAPED on the shipping if I might add...
SO I sympathize with you and it's good of you to understand it's not his fault.. that he had the best intentions as did I...
.... bottom line is though, she was happy... so that was my intention.. so all worked out.. but I did learn a lesson about buying flowers..
