| Poll question: Workplace etiquette: Is giving the finger ever appropriate? |
|
Just wondering how people felt about such a hypothetical situation.

| 1. To coworkers? To clinets/customers? |
|
Also depends on the work environment, the coworker, etc.
It just depends.

| 4. Not advisable, better to be subtle about it. |
|
In a workplace, we can be snide, insulting, contemptuous, condescending, back-stabbing, etc. as long as we do it in a subtle, "mature", and "professional" manner.
But don't raise your voice, don't cuss, and don't give the finger. Don't be overt about it. That's a no no.
But do we really want to be snide, etc.?

One of the guys I work with is so incompetent, it drives me insane. He's a true bs'er, and they're buyin' it.

If you and some co-workers were just joking around. If done in anger, then no.
